Hollygiving

The snow is falling and the candles in homes are lit. There's magic and yule spirit in the air!

The Story of Hollygiving

Bepotelkh may give out bundles of holly leaves and berries to other beps they think deserve them for doing a good deed or even just brightening their day some time in the last year. This is done in the name of the mysterious Spirit of Yule, an indescribable creature or force that embodies the magic of Yule and encourages reflection and new beginnings. It's said that the Spirit chooses some lucky beps each year on which to bestow some gifts, and that these gifts are presented by the equally mysterious Gifting Stag. The Gifting Stag is said to be a bepotelkh with flaming yellow eyes, growing in power in late December and appearing on the edge of forest clearings and the outskirts of villages. His antlers are draped in silver cone bells.

When a bep receives a bundle of holly, a human friend ties it to one of their antlers. To humans, bep antlers covered in holly are seen as a good luck charm. Beps who lose an antler (or both) while still wearing holly may choose to give one of those antlers to their caretaker or another important human in their life. These decorated antlers can be seen on doors and village gates. With wild and free beps, this tradition is similar, but instead of humans tying the holly on, they have to get the help of other wild creatures like shroomkin! In villages, holly bundles for giving are handed out to beps by their village ambassadors. In the wilds, beps must find holly bushes to snip bundles from with their teeth.

Instructions

Pick characters from the masterlist to give holly to.
Each of your elkh may give out 3 holly bundles to any other elkh they choose (but please choose active users)!
- You may, in ONE instance, have one of your beps give a holly bundle to another of your beps! (we decided this was too cute story-wise to be overlooked, but again, only once and with one bep!)
Comment on this news post, linking the bep who is giving the holly, and the three candidates they are giving holly to!
A moderator will send the holly currency to the recipients you chose.
Holly currency can then be spent at the Yule Shop, where you will find Gudvin has all kinds of gift boxes!
The gift boxes each enter you into a different raffle. See the below image to learn what you're entering for and buy the corresponding box.
Open the raffle ticket box to be entered into the raffle!
The hollygiving raffle will be rolled on December 26th and items will be delivered the same day.
If we get a high number of entries, we will increase the number of winners for each raffle!
You can enter all the raffles as many times as you want!

Just in time for Yule, you can now wrap and send gifts in these festive boxes! Going forward, there will be one limited gift wrap design available in the shop each season.

How to use:

Purchase your gift wrap from the Bepotelkh Shop, then visit your Inventory.
Click on the gift wrap.
Click the check box.
Click "Wrap Item" which will create a dropdown menu.

From here, you can choose an item, MYO slot, or currency.
You can also click the check box to let the recipient know what's inside before they open it- or keep it a surprise!
Once you've selected the item, click WRAP.
The wrapped box will appear in your inventory.

Click on the item in your inventory and then click TRANSFER.
From here, you will be able to select a user to send your wrapped gift to!

Bep-1219: Echo
Bep-868: Minos - Echo would hear of other aitis giving holly in celebration of the cold and the spirits that pass on from this realm to the next and having holly adorned on them for protection and luck. Minos with not much to say but enough energy to fill a meadow, echo would go out and find as much holly she could find, wrestle with the tree and be pricked multiple times in the face and come out of the fight with many battle scratches. Eventually she would drag the huge spiky bundle to her near by shroomkin friend Calvi to trade and make a large holly, ivy crown (reminiscent of a laurel crown that rested on the ears) for her protective figure Minos. She cared for him deeply and wished he had the happiest yule of them all.
Bep-1161: Kira - Echo enjoys Kira`s company because it is always so bubbly and warm even when its cold out! She would hand Kira some holly with her being older and able to journey out more, she wishes her friend to be safe on the way to wherever she goes.
Bep-774: Anurielle - Echo seeing Anurielle with a group of other aitis she would watch from afar, never to get close enough to the large herd for fear of them interacting with her causing minos to become defensive of his land as they crossed it. She would see them occasionally and very rarely sneak enough to hear their many voices in symphony. She wished to be a part of a herd with many to listen to and enjoy adventures but she would never leave her guardian behind. He protected her and she would always be there for him, its how it works. But she still desired something they had, she couldn't put her hoof on it but maybe its the way they laid so close together or the comfort they seemed to get while talking and laughing together. One time she had heard while the air was getting more frostier by the day, a tradition of holly giving to the young fawn. And the next day she set out to find some holly. Later that same night, like a spirit of a bep her white fur misty in the fog of sleep glittered with dew, she laid a bundle of holly within the center of their group before disappearing as silent as she came. A ghost of aiti weaving between the mists and disappearing back into the darkness. She would look at the multi-colored fawn with slight yearning and wishful thinking of what a family like this was like.

Bep-996: Journey (Fern)
Bep-1208: Strega - Journey would give Strega a bundle of holly when stopping by her home for their scheduled hang out time for some tea and just talking about what their recent events have been like.

Bep-1185: Arlo - Journey would give Arlo a bundle when she would go up north to visit him in his snowy town and enjoy cute moments of her being utterly embarrassed and loosing her words around him. She never does normally… why now?
Bep-844: Jalopeura - Journey would pass by a large looking mountain on her way through the towns to Vurr and see they were seemingly lost in thought or possibly troubled. Saving her holly bundles was not typically a trait journey had, and surprisingly she still had two left to give, so out of a small smile she hoped to give the bep, she would go up to them with a small smile and lay the holly down in the snow in front of the bep when they paused to look down to her.

Bep-1118: Saoirse
Bep-1167: Cedar - Saoirse would excitedly bounce to cedars house as soon as light broke, declaring they should go out holly giving, THIS VERY DAY! And in preparation she had brought over two ivy covered woven baskets, filled with small treats, some star bells to adorn themselves with red ribbon. She would give him his last meaning to make the most out of the day, while hiding it from him she still had one left. She wanted this one to be special. Because he was the most special to her of course. He was her best friend in the whole wide world, and she really liked the way he smiled when she gave him small treasures like pretty stones, or crudely star drawing.
Bep-1183: Lavenlach- Saoirse would find a pretty bep going from shop to shop carrying some holly bundle of their own in their basket, and would run up to them with excitement asking if they were collecting or handing out holly, but too excited to actually hear the response, she's grabbing one bundle to hand to the bep smiling like a little puppy.
Bep-1002: Malek- Saorise would eventually come to stop for a snack with cedar and see another bep fawn she had become acquainted with in the distance playing around with a fawn she had never seen before, but she would come over and smile to the new fawn with curiosity but turn to her new acquaintance and hand them the bundle before rejoining cedar for her snack. Bundle giving is HARD work!
